We've all experienced the regret of an impulsive chop. Maybe you were feeling edgy, or had a bad hair cutting experience. Whatever the reason - we understand that feeling of just wanting your long hair back.

So THANK the God of HAIR for hair extensions!

* Prices quoted are based on a full head (100 grams) worth of hair. Short and/or thick hair may require additional extensions to get the desired effect, and therefore incur a higher charge. These prices are a guiding price only. Please contact one of our specialists to organise an obligation free quote in store, today on 0425 325 596.

** Depending on the state of your hair when you come in for tightening, additional charges may apply. If proper care for the extensions hasn't been maintained, tightening may not be a viable option. Instead, removal of your extensions and either a new set or a break will be necessary.

*** Depending on the state of your hair when we remove the extensions, additional charges may apply. Excess knotting or matting from poor care will take longer to remove. If your natural hair is not in good enough condition, you may be advised to take a break from extensions for a certain amount of time.

Extension Care Guide

SLEEPING

Never sleep on wet hair! Make sure your hair is completely dry before you go to bed. It is also highly recommended to braid or plait your hair to prevent tangling.

BRUSHING

Be careful when brushing, always hold the top of your hair in a tight grip near the roots and work out the hair with a de-tangling brush. Avoid using regular paddle brushes as they can be damaging.

Do not brush your hair while it is wet! Your own hair AND the extensions are stretchy when wet and therefore more more likely to snap and cause breakage when tension is applied through brushing.

Remember to always treat your extensions with care as over aggressive brushing can result in the extensions being pulled out, breaking/snapping, or worse, your natural hair being damaged.

In the unlikely event that any of your extensions come out, please keep the hair for reapplication, contact us and arrange for a convenient time to come in.

PRODUCTS

Sassy Me recommends Deep Muk shampoo and conditioner on our hair extensions.

A heat protector spray is necessary if you are going to be using thermal equipment, such as hair dryers or hair straighteners. As the hair extensions are real hair, they can take damage from from repetitive or excessive heat exposure.

There are some ingredients that are used in hair care products that tend to overload and damage Sassyme hair extensions.

To maintain the quality and the longevity of your extensions, we strongly recommend you AVOID the following ingredients:

| PANTHENOL |

(also known as Pro Vitamin B5, Dexpanthenol, D-Pantothenyl, N-Pantoylpropanolamine, Butanamide, D-pantothenyl alcohol, Pantothenic acid)

| PROTEIN |

(This comes in many forms, most notably as Keratin or Hydrolyzed proteins. We recommend staying clear of protein unless a product is recommended by a Sassyme Technician.)

MAINTENANCE

Keep the hair brushed and clean. When dirt and sweat accumulate, hair tangles. Over use of leave-in conditioners and other hair care products will create a build up so be sure to wash thoroughly.

If you are to go swimming, we recommend you avoid submerging your extensions completely. However, we understand life happens! To protect your extensions, dampen your hair slightly, put some oil or conditioner in and plait them prior to your swimming activities. This helps create a barrier between your hair extensions and the chlorine or salt water.

Please wash the hair immediately after swimming, spa or excessive sweating.

The extensions require separating twice a week. To do this run your fingers between each row of extensions and between each individual piece. Your aim is to to keep the extensions as separate, individual pieces and avoid any matting or knotting above the extensions while your natural hair grows.

We recommend you have your hair extensions fixed and maintained every 6-8 weeks to avoid matting and tangling. When your extensions need tightening or removing, consult a professional. This is not a job for someone without experience as damage to your natural hair can occur if the procedure is performed incorrectly.

Just like your natural hair, you lose up to 100 strands of hair per day.  This means the extensions will decrease in size and thickness over time. The strands that your natural hair loses will build up and only fall free when the extensions get tightened or removed.  You may also sometimes have a white product build up where the extensions was sitting (it looks a bit like dandruff), this is harmless and will wash/brushout.

BEFORE YOU GET EXTENSIONS, YOU SHOULD KNOW

you should know the following:

Due to the specific range of available stock colours, sometimes the colour match may not be perfect. While we try our best to match you as close as possible, in some circumstances you may have to have your own hair or the extensions coloured to match.

Your own hair may need to be cut by one of our hairdressers during and after the extensions are in. This will depend on layers and your original hairs length.

With all extensions there is an adjustment period, especially if it’s your first time. The feel varies depending on the type of extension you choose, with some being more comfortable then others. It may take a week for you to settle into the weight and feel of your new hair, so please allow yourself some time to adjust to them and develop a routine for the extra maintenance.
